SA 14th at International Teams Champs

JOHANNESBURG (15 December 2015) - The PGA of South Africa has ended off its tournament year with a finish of tied 14th in the PGAs of Europe International Team Championships at the Gloria Golf Resort in Turkey.

The team of Mike Michell from Clovelly Golf Club, Serengeti's Ryan Reid and the River Club's Gregg Upton finished the 72-hole team tournament on eight over par, 14 shots behind champions France.

The French beat Scotland in a playoff to win the title for the second time in four years.

A total of 23 teams took part in this year's championships.

This is the third consecutive year that South Africa has finished 14th in the premier international team competition for PGA professionals.

Michell was once again South Africa's leading player in the individual competition in 28th place on five over par.
